LA HABRA - Any thoughts of a letdown for Valencia after its hard-fought, down-to-the-wire victory over rival El Dorado last week were put to rest immediately in the Tigers game against Sonora on Friday. The Tigers scored touchdowns on four of their first five possessions en route to a 51-12 nonleague victory at La Habra High.

Wes Fletcher rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, and quarterback Luis Cruz completed 11 of 14 passes for 179 yards and two scores to help the Tigers (4-0) rack up 415 yards of offense. Fletcher, who sat out the fourth quarter, scored on runs of 1, 5 and 56 yards. Ken Cormier was on the receiving end of Cruz's two touchdown passes.

Valencia was just as sharp on defense, holding the Raiders to 83 yards of total offense. Recording sacks for the Tigers were Mark Luna, Andrew Zamora, Jacob Parker and Dave Torres. The highlights for Sonora (2-2) were a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown by Zack Klingfus and a 14-yard scoring toss from Joseph Garcia to Fred Porter.
